Privacy

What we collect

• Account: your email, optional name, and a hashed password (we never store your actual password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google email and name.
• Your vehicles and records: year, make, model, VIN (if you enter it), mileage, service records, modifications, parts, expenses, issues, value estimates and comparable-sale links you add.
• Files you upload: vehicle photos, receipts, documents and history reports. They are stored privately and can only be opened by your signed-in account.
• AI conversations: the questions you ask, notes you type into the quick-log box, and the answers returned.
• Feedback: anything you send through the feedback button or a survey.
• Usage and errors: which features are used and technical error details (including your account ID and the action that failed) so we can fix problems. We try to strip secrets such as passwords and API keys from error logs.

Who else processes your data

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We use these services to run the app:

• Anthropic (AI): when you use the AI features, the relevant text and vehicle details, and any receipt or report you upload for reading, are sent to Anthropic's AI model to produce a response.
• NHTSA (US government): decoding a VIN and checking recalls sends your vehicle's make, model, year or VIN to NHTSA's public service.
• Google: only if you choose “Sign in with Google.”
• Resend (email): if enabled, your address and the reminder or reset email content pass through it to be delivered.
• Railway (hosting): our app, database and file storage are hosted there.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use one essential sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. We also store a few display preferences in your browser. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

• Export: Settings → Export my data downloads your records as a file.
• Delete: Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account, records and uploaded files. Copies in our backups, if any, are removed as backups roll over.
• Emails: reminder and any newsletter emails can be turned off in Settings.
• Questions or requests: email hunterfrazier24@gmail.com.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are hashed, files are served only to their owner, and every record is checked against your account before it is shown. No online service is perfectly secure, so please don't upload anything you aren't comfortable storing online, and please don't put passwords or payment details in notes.

Children

MyGarage AI isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this page in a meaningful way we'll update the date above and, where it matters, tell you in the app.
